i actually really enjoy early kesha and her ability to withstand a lot of the bullshit thrown at her (e.g. misogyny, being accused of being a vapid pop singer, etc etc)
i enjoy kesha's autotuned voice. i prefer to think of vocals as another instrument than a display of talent (for the most part). it is bewildering to me that she received criticism over her use of autotune as if it didn't suit her genre and musical capabilities (i wouldn't expect for her to be a whitney houston type if she's singing pop music about partying).
as for her latest single, joyride, i found it to be a fun and liberating song that felt like a throwback to the animal/cannibal era. her performance featuring the guys in pup masks was pretty entertaining and visually striking too, great stuff.
thanx for being who u r kesha. one of my favorite pop singers ever.
